Our Story
Since the BNO visa pathway was introduced by the British government, thousands of Hong Kong families have relocated to the UK.
This transition can be exciting, but also overwhelming. Families have to navigate a new language, culture and school system.
In 2022, the Shan Academy was founded to support the Hong Konger community with their integration into the UK.
We understand the cultural nuances, the academic differences, and the support Hong Kong students need to thrive in UK schools and universities.

Do I get a referral discount if I recommend a friend?

Do you set homework or tests for students?
Yes, we set homework and assessments regularly to ensure that students are reinforcing their learning and making progress. All homework and tests are posted on our platform, where both students and parents can easily access assignments, track progress, and stay organised. We believe that regular practice and assessment are key to academic success, and we provide detailed feedback to help students improve.
My child is neurodiverse and may need adjustments. What support do you offer?
At The Shan Academy, we are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students, including neurodiverse students. Our Founder and Director, Shannon Dhillon, is neurodiverse and understands the importance of tailoring lessons to individual learning styles and needs.
